Inspired by the book "Viagens Philosophicas" (philosophical voyages) by the naturalist Alexandre Rodrigues Ferreira, as well as by the fauna, flora and people of today's Amazōnia, this collection, which was developed in partnership with Ecoarts Amazōnia, gathers all of the group’s brands for the first time, namely Vista Alegre, Casa Alegre and Bordallo Pinheiro.

Vista Alegra Amazonia Collection

This collection is the result of a collaboration between Bordallo Pinheiro and the Brazilian NGO Ecoarts Amazônia in the preservation of an environmental, cultural, social and scientific heritage crucial to mankind's future. Each piece was inspired from the very rich local flora and was only possible thanks to intense knowledge sharing with those who live their daily lives in this vibrant mosaic of ecosystems, traditions, colours, sounds and smells that is the Amazon rainforest. Part of the collection's proceeds will go the reforestation of the Amazon area of Mato Grosso, by planting indigenous fruit trees in cities, rural areas and indigenous villages of the region where Ecoarts Amazônia operates. In 1896, Raphael Bordallo Pinheiro registered the patent of his ceramic swallows, probably when realized that they could become a true Portuguese symbol. He was not mistaken, the artist’s flock of swallows began inhabiting the Portuguese homes, in the country as well as abroad.

Artichoke presents entirely new utilitarian and decorative models. The DNA of Bordallo Pinheiro is present in meticulous attention to detail, both in the shaping of forms and texture, and in manual painting of the most faithfully naturalistic style. It coexists with the rustic white, in a versatile and contemporary set, allowing a very original mix and match.

The Aubergine collection by Bordallo Pinheiro is a vibrant and artistic representation of nature’s beauty. Featuring handcrafted ceramic pieces inspired by the shape and color of aubergines, the collection blends traditional craftsmanship with playful design.
