Table Tops Everywhere: The Perfect Places to Accessorize

First comes the table. A work of table art is the best way to set the stage, but any table will do!

IN THE FOYER

Starting in the foyer, a console table or center table top makes for a great place to display things that make your heart sing, objects of desire! This way as you enter and leave your home, and as you invite in your favorite people, the mood of YOU radiates, amping up your dopamine, and brining joy to life.

LIVING ROOM TABLES

Moving to your living room there are many opportunities to decorate table tops. Coffee tables, more console tables, side tables, fire place mantels, and maybe even a pedestal dedicated to one specific work of table top art you love. Curate each table top carefully, considering size, shape, function and most importantly how does it make you feel?

WHAT TO USE:

Your Favorite Books and Magazines

One of my favorite table top accessories is books and magazines. As one of my top sources of inspiration I am always adding new books and moving them around from bookcases to table tops throughout my home. I also love leaving one open for the next person passing by to discover.

With or Without Bookends

Depending on the books you select for your table top layout you may want to add a pair of bookends. I love natural stone ones, or these glass ones by the fabulous Vista Alegre make for a beautiful addition to pretty much any table.

Decorative Boxes

A must on any table top styled to perfection, decorative boxes are a wonderful way to add beauty and functionality. Just the place to tuck away your keys or any other small life trinkets. Cut glass, hand painted porcelain, carved lacquered wood, find a box that speaks your love language.

Floral Arrangements

Natural flowers are a must on as many of my tables as possible, however the art of faux florals (both in the form of silk or still life) is pretty amazing in today's market so well worth exploring if live doesn't work for you. Consider the vase you choose for your arrangements as well. Tall statement or smaller accent, either way feel free to get creative with your choice.

Table Jewelry

This is a category I really love to play with. Perhaps a bejeweled tiara or a stunning table necklace by Angela Maria. There are so many fun ways to play with this concept when decorating your table tops.

Sculptures

Small to medium sculptures make for wonderful table top decoration. I especially love animals, a brass sea creature, a brilliant butterfly, or some other sort of natural crustation like a sea shell or cast florals.

Scents

Adding a diffuser or scented candle to your table top decor brings in your sense of smell. By choosing a scent you love, this is a great way to bring more you to your table top decor. Feel free to change it up seasonally or whenever your heart desires.
